ABSTRACT: This research investigated the influence of early childhood education on spatial reasoning skills. The objectives were to: (1) assess the impact of spatial activities on cognitive development, (2) evaluate the role of early education in enhancing spatial reasoning, and (3) determine the long-term benefits of spatial reasoning on academic performance. A survey design was employed to gather data from educators, parents, and children about their experiences with spatial activities in early childhood education. A sample size of 140 participants was selected using purposive sampling. The case study focused on early childhood education centers in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Findings revealed that spatial activities in early childhood education significantly improved cognitive development and enhanced spatial reasoning skills, with long-term benefits on academic performance. It was recommended that early childhood education programs include spatial activities in their curricula and provide training for educators to effectively support the development of spatial reasoning skills in young children.
